Sonoma, CA · Wine Country · Operator-owned fleet

Sonoma charter bus rental from the company that drives the bus.

Our yard is in South San Francisco, roughly 70 minutes from Sonoma Plaza on US-101 and CA-37, and every vehicle that runs the valley is one we own and maintain ourselves. No marketplace, no subcontractor, no 20–40% broker margin. The dispatcher who prices your day is the one who assigns the driver who shows up for it.

The runs our drivers already know

Distances are road miles from Sonoma Plaza. Times are typical off-peak on Highway 12 and CA-121. These are runs we stage through the valley week in and week out, not keywords.

Sonoma Valley tasting loopsBuena Vista, Gundlach Bundschu, Ram's Gate, CornerstoneFour to six stops on a single loop, laid out so the driver never has to reverse a full-size coach out of a gravel lane. Most valley properties take a motorcoach, and we confirm the handful that do not.3–18varies56-pax coach
Up-valley runs to Glen Ellen and KenwoodHighway 12 north through Boyes Hot SpringsHighway 12 is scenic and narrow in places, so we send the size that fits the destination rather than the size that fills the seats. Small parties usually end up on a minibus by choice.7–1215–20 min24–35-pax minibus
Vineyard weddings and rehearsal dinnersRam's Gate, Cornerstone Sonoma, Plaza-area innsGuests from the inn block to the ceremony, then a shuttle running on a loop until the last person leaves. Cross-valley days into NapaCA-121 and CA-12 through CarnerosTwo valleys in one day is a common request and it works, but only if the itinerary respects the twenty-odd minutes between them. We build the stop list so the group is not eating lunch in the aisle.1425 min56-pax coach

Why it matters who owns the bus

Direct operator vs. national booking marketplace

Most sites ranking for "charter bus Sonoma" do not own a single vehicle. They resell operators like us and add a margin. Here is what changes when you skip that layer.

What Sonoma charters typically cost

Ranges are published so you can budget before you pick up the phone. The Sonoma quote is itemized to the hour and the mile, including the run up from our yard, and it holds once you book unless the itinerary changes.

Minibus, 24–35 passengers$150–$175/hr

Driver included. Five-hour minimum, so a half day runs $750–$875. Valley tasting loops, wedding guest runs, Plaza event shuttles.

Motorcoach, 56 passengers$190–$245/hr

Driver included. Quoted per itinerary on top of the hourly rate because deadhead, tolls and return time change the total.

Recurring shuttle programContract rate

Contract rate for repeating valley routes: resort guest shuttles, seasonal event loops and staff runs, billed monthly.

Always included: driver, fuel, standard insurance, live tracking. Quoted separately: tolls, parking, driver overnight on multi-day trips, gratuity if you choose to add it.

Sonoma FAQ

Answers from the people who dispatch the buses

How much does a charter bus cost in Sonoma?

A half-day (5-hour) 24-35 passenger minibus in Sonoma typically runs $750–$875 with the driver included. A 56-passenger motorcoach is quoted per itinerary, since the stop list and how late the group runs matter more here than raw mileage. The quote comes from our dispatch office and is itemized line by line.

Can we visit both Sonoma and Napa valleys in one day?

Yes, and it is one of the most common requests we get. CA-121 and CA-12 through Carneros put the two valleys about 25 minutes apart, so a realistic day is three stops on one side and two on the other. We will tell you when a proposed stop list does not fit the clock instead of booking it and rushing you.

Which airports do you serve from Sonoma?

San Francisco (SFO, about 55 road miles by CA-37), Oakland (OAK, about 50 miles) and Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County (STS, about 35 miles) when a group flies in regionally. Bags go in the luggage bays, not on laps.

Are you a broker or the actual bus company?

The actual bus company. Umbrella Global Bus owns nineteen vehicles, employs the drivers, runs its own dispatch and shop, and holds CPUC TCP 0037963 and USDOT 3126263. When you call, you reach the operator directly rather than a marketplace that resells the job.

Where can a charter bus park near Sonoma Plaza?

There is bus parking on First Street East, which is where we stage for Plaza pickups and drop-offs. For wedding and festival work we agree the load zone with the venue in advance so the coach is not idling in a travel lane while guests board.

Do you supply a wheelchair-accessible vehicle for a Sonoma event?

Yes. All three of our 69-passenger double-deckers have a wheelchair lift and restroom, and one of the minibuses is lift-equipped for the tighter valley driveways. Tell dispatch how many wheelchair positions you need so the right unit is assigned from the start.
